I am a bartender. Thirty years behind the bar.
I love to network. I love to connect with people. And I love to look at something, build it with my own hands, and watch what comes out the other side.
That last part goes way back. Ten summers of irrigation work, through high school and college. Digging holes in the heat all day. Then filling them back in, laying the grass back down piece by piece, and watching the sprinklers come up for the first time. That feeling never got old. You made something out of nothing and now it works.
Where I come from
My mom passed away when I was nine. My dad remarried a woman with three kids, and just like that I went from only child to one of four. Overnight.
I am not going to dress up what came next. I went down the wrong path with drugs and alcohol. I met the one wrong person, and one decision changed the trajectory of my life. I have always been a hard worker. Eighty-hour weeks never scared me. But hard work does not protect you from one bad decision.
I was looking at life in prison. I am not sharing the details yet. Maybe someday. What I can tell you is I went through a year and a half of not knowing what was going to happen to me, waking up every morning with no idea what my life was going to look like. That was probably the scariest time of my life.
I got lucky. I was a first-time offender. I cooperated. I ended up doing seven months in a boot camp at Lewisburg Penitentiary in Pennsylvania. Then seven months in a halfway house. Then seven months on house arrest.
Here is what I want you to take from that. I went from one end of the spectrum to the other, fast. One day you are playing three sports, everything going your way, and the next you are looking at losing all of it. That is how quick life changes. The only thing I could control was my attitude, so I kept it positive and I kept moving.
What got me out the other side was my family and my friends. Their support, showing up when there was nothing to show up for. I went from homeless, almost dying more than once, to where I am now. A beautiful wife. Three beautiful girls. And now I am building with AI, helping more people than I ever could behind the bar.
I am telling you this because it is the part people actually relate to. Not the wins. The fall. The rebuilding only means something because of what came before it.
The lesson in every business
After the bar, life took me through a lot of worlds. Cryptocurrency since 2014. An Amazon store. Trucking. A mental health care franchise in Texas, and a management company helping healthcare operators. Different worlds, same discovery every single time: nothing works without a system.
You need standard operating procedures. You need workflows. You need pipelines. You need a website. It does not matter if you are selling products online or running trucks or caring for patients. The businesses that survive are the ones with systems, and the ones without them run on chaos and memory.
I kept seeing it from behind the bar too. Business owners would come in, good people working themselves to the ground, and their whole operation lived in their head and a notebook. One bad week and the whole thing wobbled.
Ideas with nowhere to go
Here is the part nobody tells you about having ideas: they are worthless without infrastructure. I have always had ideas, more than I could count. But an idea in your head is not a business. You need the website. You need the tools. You need all the pieces between "I thought of something" and "it exists in the world." That gap ate years of my life. I could see the finished product in my mind, clear as day, and I had no road to get there.
Then I found AI tools that build. You type in an idea and a website appears. I remember the exact feeling: this changes everything. Not because of any one tool, but because of what it meant. People like me, people like you, could finally build the things in their heads. Things that would have died as someday ideas.
You do not dig the hole by worrying about the sprinkler. You dig the hole.
Why I do this now
The original company my partner Erik and I started was called Manifestic. The name came from what we both believe: you can build what is in your brain, what is in your thoughts, what is in your heart. I tell my kids every single day. Have good energy. You can manifest anything you want in your life. Be a good person. That was not a slogan. It still is not. Business Hub OS is what that belief grew into: a system that lets regular business owners build what they see in their heads, even if they have never built anything technical in their lives.
Talking to business owners every day, I keep hearing the same thing in different words. They know AI exists. They know they need it. They just do not know where to start. They are too busy running the day-to-day to learn a whole new world. I know, because I am one of them. I was the guy with ideas and no road.
So that is the whole mission now. You do not have to become an AI expert. You do not have to learn the tools. You just have to know where to start, and we will walk the road with you.
